How to Bet on Golf
Betting on golf has increased dramatically in popularity over recent years. Two different types of
bet on golf are offered;
The first is bet on golf on the winner of the event with odds, generally ranging from about 7/1 to 70/1, being offered on all golf players. These odds are then adjusted after each round of play.
The second way to bet on golf is by match-ups in which two or more golf players are matched against each other, either on a round-by-round basis or over the entire course of the tournament.
Bet on Golf is available on the PGA, LPGA and European Tour events, The Masters, the U.S. Open, the British Open, and the Ryder Cup, which in recent years has become highly competitive with the outcome frequently coming down to the results of the last few singles match-ups making very exciting betting action.
Golf is a major international leisure and sporting activity with two leading tournament circuits: The U.S. Professional Golfers Association (PGA) and the European Tour. Big-money events are also held in Australia, South Africa, the Caribbean and, increasingly, Asia. Almost all events are decided over four rounds of golf. There are also American and European ladies circuits. Most events feature "sudden-death" playoffs in the event that two or more players are tied after the regulation 72 holes of play.
The prize-money available in golf has risen substantially in recent years with huge purses and lucrative sponsorship deals, especially from equipment manufacturers, the leading players are among the world's best paid sporting figures. Although golf is usually an individual sport, an exception to this is every two years the top American and European players meet in the Ryder Cup with the venue alternating between the two continents. Each countries team has 12 players, 10 of whom are determined by rankings based on their performances on their respective golf tours and selected major golf events, with the team captain nominating the other two players. These players then meet in head-to-head singles and doubles match-ups.
Bet on golf during one of the four majors: The Masters, U.S. Open and PGA. in the U.S., and the British Open
in Great Britain is very exciting. With the exception of The Masters which is always played at Augusta, Georgia, the venue for the other three golf major events is rotates among a group of leading
courses in their respective countries. Thanks for visiting bet on golf.
